Call to Artists: Art of the Lake -- Opening for submissions in August

Lake Champlain is a source of natural beauty that attracts tourists and locals. It is also a valuable ecological resource that is home to fish and wildlife. What does the lake mean to you? Vermont artist are invited to submit one or two pieces of artwork in any original painting or drawing 2D medium (no photography or digital art), up to 40 inches on it's longest side. In choosing works for a show, we strive to create a cohesive exhibit that illustrates the theme.

Entry submission deadline is Monday Sept. 2, 2024 before 5 p.m. Entry emails must include: Artist Name, Contact phone number, street address, email, Name of artwork, size and medium, year created, and price if for sale. 1 to 2 High quality jpeg image files that include the artists last name and title of the work in the filename. (example LastName_Title.jpg) There is no fee to enter. You must be a Vermont artist.

Lake Champlain Access Television requires permission to reproduce images of the selected works for on-air broadcast, in print and online as part of publicity for the exhibit. If this is not acceptable, don't apply. Participating artists are invited to sell the accepted work. LCATV will take a 10% commission on sales made during the show to benefit our community media work.

We will select pieces by Sept. 16 and will let artists know soon, by email. Accepted pieces should be delivered to LCATV by no later than Sept. 27 during our regular business hours. Work must be wired across the back and ready to hang from our gallery system, NO SAWTOOTH hangers.

Send submissions by email to: art@lcatv.org. Please use “Submission for Art of the Lake Show" as the email subject. Attach up to 2 high quality .jpg files of your art for consideration. The art show will run from Oct. 1- Nov 30, 2024 at the LCATV Gallery, 63 Creek Farm Plaza, Suite 3, Colchester, VT 05446. An opening reception will be held Friday Oct 4 from 6 - 8 p.m. Artists are wholly responsible for drop-off/pick-up of their art. Pick-up dates December 30, 2024.
